HAEATA CLOSED EARLY / PUM MEETINGS AND TEACHER ONLY DAYS

Please take note of the times and dates below where the kura is closed.
EARLY CLOSURE
Thursday 17th November @ 12:30pm for Junior School Yr 1-8
Our Manukura, Peggy Burrows and Board have been notified of a compulsory Paid Union Meeting for members of NZEI on Thursday 17th November. We have made the decision to close school at 12:30pm to allow for our teaching kaimahi/staff in years 1-8 to attend. This is Hikuawa, Kaunuku & Komanawa years 1-8
We ask that if possible ākonga can go home. However we understand for some this is simply not possible and we will provide limited supervision onsite for any ākonga who are unable to do so. If you require your child to remain behind at kura/school please contact office@haeata.school.nz so we can add them to our roll for the afternoon and arrange staffing cover.
TEACHER ONLY DAYS
Monday, 21st & Monday, 28th November2022
Haeata Community Campus will be closed for instruction as we have two scheduled Teacher Only Days. The senior school will be participating in the national NCEA Accord Days to prepare for the implementation of the NCEA change package in 2024and the Junior school will be working on assessment for learning data analysis and curriculum planning for 2023.
LATE START
Senior School Yr 9-13 Tuesday 29th November 2022
Our Manukura, Peggy Burrows and Board have been notified of a compulsory Paid Union Meeting for members of the PPTA Branch on the 29th November.
We have decided to start kura/school at a later time on this day.
Kura will begin at 12:00 (lunchtime) to allow kaiako/teachers to travel back from the meeting. This is for the senior school only, years 9-13 including ākonga in years 9 and above in Kōmanawa.
We ask that if possible to keep your child at home in the morning however we understand for some this is simply not possible and we will provide limited supervision onsite for any ākonga. If you require your child to come to kura/school at the usual time please contact the office@haeata.school.nz so we can add them to our roll for the afternoon and arrange staffing cover.
